Entry 131 - Three Things Not to Be Left in Your Car

Three Things Not to Be Left in Your Car

on a 90° July afternoon.

I thought friday was supposed to be a good day.
  1. Electronic Media: Optical or Magnetic: Especially if you intend on using the information in the future.
  2. Unopened Aluminum Cans of Carbonated Beverage (any variety): Apparently these things become quite agitated about being left alone for more that a few hours.
  3. Keys to said auto-voiture: Hard to get back in without these, right?

Failure to follow these pointers can, with surprising dispatch, turn a Friday into a Monday. ◊

3 Missives So Far

Ouch, man. Ouch! I'm sorry. I'm great at doing stupid stuff like that. The last time I locked my keys in the car, I was at an airport, picking up my wife. Luckily, she had her own keys with her, so we were able to drive home w/o incident.

The last time I locked my keys in my car, it was running. How great is that? I just meant to step out of the car for a second, but I always lock my doors, so.... Not fun. But the hard drive getting tweaked would be even less fun.

Enh, the hard drive survived, but I'm sure its MTBF has been seriously altered. The drivers for the access point on the CD weren't so lucky.

Nah, the worst part of the whole incident was the exploding soda. It really exploded. On everything. On the headliner. Only semi-decent thing was the fact it's Diet Pepsi.

wheat: I did that once, when I was 16... I had just caused a car accident, and I got out to see if the woman I hit was ok... and locked the keys in the car. In traffic. Not good times.

And I've done the same thing with soda. I had a coke explode in my old car -- 2 years after the fact I was STILL finding coke stains in new places. This explosion would have taken me out if I had been in the car. It was violent. I never got the coke stains out of the ceiling carpet. It's one reason I sold the car. (That, and it was falling apart.)
